This is a new version of a blog I've been very occasionally writing over the past few years. I have a hard time thinking anyone much cares what I think, which isn't a productive feeling for any writer. As the release of my novel approaches, I think I need to again make some kind of effort, and so here I am. And I realize that the essence of blog writing lies in not worrying about large groups of people caring what I think, but in reaching some group of people, however small, who might find something interesting in what I think. It's a modest idea, put like that, and doesn't sound like anything a navel-gazing egomaniac would suggest...
Despite my slacker approach to blogging, I started another blog, Pop Cultural Capital, with a friend of mine, Mike Frangione. Mike is much more active at the blog than I am, but again, I mean to amend that. We talk about anything in pop culture, current or historical, that strikes us as postworthy. We have a new regular contributor, Michael Rappa, too. And there's a page dedicated to personalized visions of a zombie apocalypse. Gosh, it would be something if you'd take a look.
